Your child takes part in a warm, age-appropriate assessment and an interview. These help us understand their strengths, level, and how best to support them. English language support is available for students who need it.

Once your child is offered a place, simply accept the offer and complete enrolment to secure it. From there, we'll guide your family through everything needed for a happy, confident first day.

Is Fairmont International School Vietnam the new name for Hanoi Toronto School?

Fairmont International School Vietnam is the new identity of Hanoi Toronto School. The rebrand marks the school’s next chapter, with an expanded educational offering and connection to the Fairmont educational legacy.

When and how can I apply to FISV?

Applications are accepted throughout the school year. To begin, complete our online inquiry form at [Inquiry form link], and our Admissions Team will contact you within 1 business day to discuss your child's needs and schedule a campus tour.

What assessments does my child need to complete?

Students in Grade 2 and above take the CAT4 assessment, which evaluates verbal (English), quantitative, non-verbal, and spatial reasoning skills.

Students in Early Years and Grade 1 participate in a warm, age-appropriate assessment instead. All students have a one-on-one meeting with our teaching staff to help us understand their strengths and how we can best support them.

How can I schedule a campus visit?

Do you offer Advanced Placement (AP) courses?

Yes, we offer a range of AP courses for our High School students. Our AP program is designed to prepare students for success at leading universities worldwide and provide challenge and depth for high-achieving learners.

What are the school hours?

Instructional start time: 8:00 AM (Monday–Friday)
Arrival window: 7:30–7:45 AM
Instructional end time: 3:00 PM (Monday–Friday)
After-school enrichment activities: 3:00–4:00 PM (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Do you offer school bus transportation and school meals?

Yes, we provide school transportation services. Please contact our Admissions Team for current routes and availability.
Our two on-campus cafeterias provide nutritious, balanced meals daily. Students receive a morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack with a variety of Western, Asian, vegetarian, and halal options to meet the needs of our diverse community.

What nationalities are represented in your student body?

Our student body is multicultural with over 25 different nationalities represented. This diversity enriches our learning community and prepares all students for global citizenship. We actively welcome families from around the world who share our educational vision.

What extracurricular activities does Fairmont offer?

As one of the best schools in Hanoi, we offer a wide range of clubs, projects, and after-school activities through two comprehensive programs:

ISP Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS): Student-led initiatives including ISP Artist, ISP Chess Masters, ISP Filmmakers, ISP Cultural Exchange, ISP Model United Nations, and more
Extracurricular Activity Program (ECA):

Do students wear school uniforms?

Yes, students are required to wear the Fairmont uniform in accordance with our uniform policy.

Our School Shop is open every Thursday, 8:30–11:30 AM and 1:30–4:00 PM throughout the school year for uniform purchases and availability.

Do you have health and wellness services for students?

Yes, we have an on-campus Student Health Center staffed with qualified health professionals who support student well-being and safety during school hours. In addition, we provide comprehensive counseling and pastoral care to support students' social-emotional development and overall wellness.

Do you have university counseling services?

Yes, our dedicated university counselors support students and families throughout the university planning and application process. Our counseling team includes experienced professionals from Fairmont Schools in the United States, providing world-class guidance.

Students from Grade 7 onwards have access to the Unifrog platform, which helps students, parents, and teachers explore university options and manage the college application process with confidence.

What is the composition of your teaching faculty?

Our faculty comprises experienced educators, including certified teachers from English-speaking countries. We maintain high standards for teacher qualification and provide ongoing professional development to ensure excellence in teaching and learning.

Does FISV offer English as an Additional Language (EAL) program?

For those students whose English proficiency is not up to the level, as evidenced by the placement test at the time of enrollment or by teachers’ assessment during the academic year, HTS offers an EAL program to develop the four core English Language skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) for academic success. This is a fee-based program which consists of two after-school sessions and one in-class session during the week.

Individualized Study Plans: Through the subject credit system, HTS students will gain entry to the university and undergraduate program of their choice. Incorporating a focus on academic achievement, international university partnerships and individualized study plans, every family at HTS is assisted in planning a personalized academic pathway which leads to their child’s dream career.

Who is on the FISV teaching team?

Our teaching team consists of highly qualified teachers who are experienced, energetic, enthusiastic, and dedicated to teaching to the highest standards. By setting meaningful student learning targets which are aligned with the Ontario Curriculum and tracking student progress over time, teachers develop comprehensive profiles of each student’s growth and development. Our teachers are regularly in-serviced on contemporary international education to ensure they are up to date and providing the highest quality of teaching.

Our School Leadership Team (SLT) consists of the Principal, the Deputy Principals, Department Heads, and our ISP stakeholders. This professional community collaborates on developing academic and institutional policies which are aligned with our vision to serve the needs of our learners and their families. The SLT evaluates and acquires resources which manifest our vision into reality through a collaborative and reflective process which includes our local and international partners.

The expatriate academic teaching team members are qualified internationals, mostly originating from Canada and the United States, and are trained in effectively delivering the Ontario Curriculum.

The Vietnamese academic team members are exceptional educators and have plenty of experience teaching in an international environment.

Does the school offer any Extra-curricular Clubs?

To serve the diverse interests and abilities of students, we offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities. Registration for these clubs is on a voluntary basis. Please note that some clubs may carry an extra fee.
